In August 2010, Darpana opened a new centre called CRANTI, or the Citizen’s Resource and Action NetworkInitiative, intended to help citizens hold their government accountable and navigate the bureaucratic system for addressing civil issues opened its doors to the public.
The Centre serves the public by helping citizens contact government officers, apply for schemes, file RTIs, and solve other concerns or issues related to health, education, government schemes, discrimination, public safety, human rights, and more. The aim of the centre is to help citizens use their own rights to demand transparency, accountability, and equality from their government. Anyone can contact the CRANTI centre with a query or issue. CRANTI is managed by local RTI expert and winner of the National RTI Award, Mr. Bharatsinh Jhala.
The CRANTI centre is open to the public during normal working hours on weekdays and Saturday.
The office may be contacted by phone at (+91) 79 2755 1389 or by email at cranti@darpana.com.
