Arundhati’s version of the Mandodari Padam from Tulsidas’s Ramayana highlights the evening by taking a feminist approach while relating a conversation between Mandodari and Ravana. Centre of Investigation of Body and Mind presents
La Loba
translated as the wolf-woman is a uni-personal performance based on the
idea that this woman collects bones to sculpt and mould a wolf which
lives inside herself. When the wolf comes to life it slowly transforms
into a woman and this creature is dedicated to her path of liberty and
to save her natural instincts. This creature lives within all of us,
within those who do not bend their heads before institutional rituals,
bureaucratic laws and civilized customs. This creature desires to live
free near its natural surroundings and does not become a slave to
sentiments.
